I feel like she's replacing me? I could say I'm pretty well liked at my school. I'm not in that "popular" group, of course, but I have a good amount of friends -- probably the middle group on the social hierarchy.This year this new girl moved in named Stephanie and I feel like she's taken over my life. Margaret is more into school, and apparently so is Stephanie every time they have a conversation. I feel like she shapes her personality for other people. And the awful thing is that it works! How do I get people to call in? I have a podcast (www.missyujin.tk) and I always get awesome feedback (in real life and on comments on Facebook group) for the show, but I never get enough voicemails. disturbing voice mail may not be human? I checked my voicemail and listened to this message numerous times since i heard it and i have had others listen to it and there stuck in stupid like me. Girl is so confusing, what should i do? Ok, so I really dig this girl right , and she seemed to like me back. She is smart, funny and beautiful. An annoying college peer who WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!!! (very long)? Okay, here's some background information first of all: Last year during my sophomore year of college in the fall, I met this freshman student in my engineering class. He seemed like a cool guy at first -- he liked anime and seemed kinda geeky, but that didn't bother me honestly. He was funny at times, and we exchanged phone numbers in case we ever wanted to hang out and in case we wanted to get in a study group. Well, the first time I remember him calling me was when he was fishing and he asked me to get him something to eat from McDonalds. I told him I wouldn't be able to because I was far away from where he was; I was at the mall hanging out with some friends, and this is like a 40 minute long drive. He was all like, "Okay, whatever." I thought he sounded rude, but it didn't bother me that much. It was the first time I called him on the phone, and it was kind of weird to me. Later on, I team up with him in a class project where we do a presentation on Ethics and Professionalism for engineers. Every time when I called him on the phone he'd say something along the lines of, "What do you want?" and he would say it in a rude way (BTW, I heard him talk the same way to his MOTHER of all people). I would respond, "Uhm, hey, do you wanna meet up somewhere to prepare for our presentation? I've worked on the PowerPoint and maybe we could look at it together ahead of time." He agreed to meet with me (NOTE: I did all of the research and did the entire PowerPoint because this guy is lazy, but I just dealt with it and thought to myself I would never team up with him again because he's already getting on my nerves), and we take up a study session room at our school library. He tries to make me watch anime, but I tell him that I'm there preparing for the presentation and I have another class taking place less than an hour from the time I get there, and he's all like "Oh well, you have enough time." We only briefly go over the PowerPoint, and this guy memorizes NOTHING! I even sent him the document via e-mail, yet he admits to only looking at it one time. Oh yeah, and another time when we were supposed to be working on the PowerPoint, we were at a place he was house-sitting and he told me to help him make terriyaki burgers (he pretty much demanded me to do so, and I helped out a little bit at first but I got tired of doing and flat-out told him that I didn't come to make burgers, I came to work on school). On the day of our presentation, it's a disaster. I elaborate on the slides of the PowerPoint presentation which I think is a good idea, but this guy just simply reads off the slides and has trouble pronouncing some of the words, indicating he was unprepared. He asked me at times DURING THE PRESENTATION stuff like, "How do you say that?" and I have to answer him during our speech. I am embarrassed beyond belief. The guy calls me a few days later, but I am enraged over his childish antics and ignore his calls. I text him back after he leaves a voicemail, but that's about it because I don't feel like talking to him. When I see him again during the day of the final exam he walks up to me and he's all like, "Hey, where have you been? I've tried to call you." I respond, "I've been busy" which is somewhat true. Now that the semester is over, I don't worry about this guy because I currently don't have any classes with him. However, he still goes to the same college as I do and one day I bump into him (about two months ago). I'm getting technical help from a professional who knows how work on system of the school, and this guy I've been talking about the whole time here, he scrolls up beside me on a computer chair and starts saying stuff to me while I'm listening to the professional. Stuff like, "Geez, you forgot your password? I can't believe that happened! You need to do this, man." He says this when I'm talking to someone else, no manners whatsoever! I end up saying, "Do you need something? If not, go away. I'm trying to get help." Well, that's pretty much it for the background info. As for now, he continues to call at least once every week but I never answer because I refuse to affiliate with someone like that. He acts like he wants to be a friend, but he's not friendly to me in the least. I really don't know what to do. Should I continue to ignore the calls while hoping I don't bump into him at school, or should I finally pick up next time he calls (and I know he will) and tell him that I don't want to be his friend? She went on to say how she hopes he can forgive her for how she treated him and just that she wanted to let him know she was sorry. He didnt respond. He didnt hear from her again, until this past weekend. Out of nowhere, this girl calls him crying and leaves a voicemail thats like, 6-7 minutes long. She is sobbing and carrying on about how she "needs someone to talk to" and he is the "only person who understands her" and she was sorry and loved him. Then, 15 MINUTES LATER she calls back again! She leaves another message, this time a little less dramatically..."I miss you...I just talked to Mike for 2 hours on the phone last night, trust me I really need to talk to you...I miss my best friend, I love you...I will always love you and there will always be a place in my heart for you...So I hear you are living in DC now, really? *giggles* I hope sometime in this millenium you will think about calling me back, I miss you so much. You know the number" My boyfriend kept her number in his phone because he does not like not knowing who is calling, but I do the same...Even if I cant stand a person, I want to know NOT to answer the phone you know? So when she called, he looked like he had seen a ghost and told me to look at his phone and there was her name...The most aggravating part is she had a 2 hour conversation with HIS best friend Mike the night before and Mike conveniently does not mention to her that yes he lives here in DC, with ME, his FIANCE! Conveniently, that minor detail was left out...And something he said must have given her some courage to call because suddenly she is calling him! I would think that a girl who knows her ex is about to get married is not going to call him and act that pathetic...Then again, people have a funny way of deciding what to hear and what to tune out. So what should I do? I am by no means jealous, I know that he would rather jump off of a blimp than talk to her or deal with her nonetheless leave me for her...And she has not called since...But something about this entire little situation bothers me, its like she wont give up and since she may not know I exist, she is sort of storming in on m "territory" so to speak. I want her to know I exist so she stops or at least gets the hint that he is not interested since he refuses to speak to her. After 2 years she breaks her silence with an email, then again a year later with those voicemails...Who is to say she wont do this again every now and again until she is satisfied? Its annoying! I dont want to cause waves with my fiance, who will undoubtedly tell me to let it go since he could care less....But its a matter of comfort here. Most of my guy friends (and I have a lot, Im not a girl kind of chick) said they would be uncomfortable with this if it was the reverse, and my fiance's friend Dave went so far as to say that if his ex was doing this crap he would just hand the phone to his GF and let her deliver the bad news that he cant come to the phone...Should I call this girl? Text her? Email her? I dont want to be nasty, but I want her to know that we are not comfortable with her calling and that she needs to leave him alone, as if ignoring her emails and calls for years was not an indicator of that alone. I want her to know that I exist and that she is being inappropriate and invasive, because clearly she has no clue that I exist and he wont talk to her. Is that a good idea? My better judgement tells me no, because then she may start calling and getting nuts with him if I do that...Or, she could go away...I also dont want him to be miffed that I decided to do that since she has not called again...Im just a little conflicted here. I dont want to fuel the fire, but this is really obnoxious and I just cant put my finger on why it makes me so ticked off. It just does not seems so disrespectful. Any advice?
