Does Verizon Wireless have a different voicemail system in different parts of the country? The reason I ask is because I've dialed people with Verizon in the midwest (I live in the northeast) and the voice for the voicemail sounds different than the one I have.
I have a lot of rentals and I need some kind of voicemail system, any suggestions? I have a cell phone but dont want to be bombarded with phone calls. I live in a city with half a million people, so I would prefer they call a number, get an immediate message response, giving off directions to my "open house". Each week or so, I can just change the voicemail leading them to a new property. Do you have any suggestions?

Cisco IP 7970 phone system - How to reset the default voicemail option? I have been provided with a new phone by my company which features different setting options including voicemail setting. As default setting, you have the system voice recorded which plays (when non-answering the phone) and to which you can add your name (with your own voice) at the end of the default system voice message. The problem is that when I recorded my name, I hanged up because I couldn't do it properly (I was laughing....) and wanted to try later. But unfortunatly, the default voice system has disapeared. Then it tells me to enter the ten digit number I'm trying to leave a message or press the pound key if i have a mail box in the system. When I press pound it tells me to dial the mailbox number. That's where I get lost.

Google voice I thought might be the answer but after setting a number up and calling it it just sounded like I was reaching a voicemail system where you put a code in rather then a central number that you give to people you know to call so then you can get a call from any phone you have and not miss a call. Alltel - Can't access my voicemail? Today I tried to check my voicemail, and when I called all I got was the busy tone (beep beep beep beep). So i tried calling my cell phone from my house phone and when I got to the voicemail, instead of playing my usual recorded greeting, it said "the wireless customer you are trying to reach on the alltel network is unavailable at this time." So what gives? Is the voicemail system messed up due to the Alltel/Verizon merger? Is there any way to fix this?
Should the alarm system be attached parallely or serially to the phone line? I got a new alarm system installed today. I am using VoIP (Vonage). The installer said that I should make sure always that the alarm system cable is attached serially to the system. In other words, he wants the phone line going into the alarm system first, and then to the actual phone box. That's all well and good, but he didn't know why I should do this. Now I am not stupid and don't want to go against what the installer said. However, when the system is connected parallely (phone line-> Alarm system->Phone) the calls have a delay when they are made back to back. For example, when I call my phone twice in a span of 10 seconds, the second call gets a fax tone (its not really a fax tone, but it sounds like it) instead of going to the voicemail. Now, if I wait longer than 10 seconds, everything is fine. But when I connect the phone parallely, everything is fine. OR, if I connect it serially the other w (line->phone->alarm) everything works fine. Do you know what is causing this?

How to set up voicemail? Okay so I got my phone a couple months ago and it's been working fine, except I still haven't been able to set up my voicemail. When I follow the instructions and dial 1, it brings me to voicemail, but instead of giving me instructions to set it up, it says: "You've reached the voicemail system. If I press *, it asks me to enter my number, and when I do that, it says that I don't have a voicemail on this system. What do I do? I'd rather not deal with customer service. If you leave a Voicemail message, but hang up instead of pressing a key, does it deliver? I called my new boss and left a message. Instead of pushing a button as prompted, I instinctively hung up. Does my message still end up getting delivered, even though this particular system has usually asked me to push a button and then select to send the message?

Voicemail icon won't go away? I just recently switched over to a new generation of the phone that I used to have, and it's being really great so far. But the only problem is that the voice mail icon won't go away and it's been there ever since I got it. I remember missing a call from a family member the day I got it, but I don't think she left a message, so I don't know if it could be that or not. Direct access number to Boost Mobile voicemail? I just got Boost Mobile, and I use YouMail for my voicemail, so I changed ALL my forwarding numbers to point to YouMail instead. The problem is that my Boost voicemail had an unheard message before the switch and because I changed the forwarding numbers, I don't know which number to call to access my voicemail with Boost. I can't call my own number because it forwards to YouMail instead of Boost. Is there any Boost customer out there who uses Boost voicemail who can tell me the direct access number to the voicemail system (should be your default no-answer forwarding number in your phone's settings. You might need to use the "get status' feature for the number to show to you.) Thank you so much!

Cant set up voicemail for Tmobile (samsung beat)? It is my mother in laws phone and it wont allow her to set up her voicemail account. Is this considered rude or is it normal for my position? I'm an administrative assistant in an office of 9 people. The office is predominately male (7 male, 2 female). One of the managers here each day at lunch time invites ALL office personnel to join in for lunch but I'm never invited. For these invites all he's doing is asking each person. During this time though the front office and phones will be left unattended, a non-issue since there is other non-office personnel and a voicemail system. Is this rude?...or is it normal for secretarial staff?

How can a turned off cell phone still give you a ringing tone when you call it? I call a cell phone number that I know for certain is turned off. I have a voicemail that I would like to save permanently (eg Mp3, .Wav on a computer) that is currently saved on the ATT voicemail system. I know there are subscription services that handle new incoming voicemails and convert to mp3 or text, but will any pull an old voicemail off the system? ATT lets you "save" voicemails for a few weeks or so but then forces deletion - so my time with this is limited. I realize I could play the voicemail loudly & record it on a computer mic - but that would lose quality. Any better suggestions?
