What is the difference between Microsoft Office for Macs and Virtual PC for Macs?
All I want is word and excel for my new macbook...

- Virtual PC is an old fashioned way to run Windows on a Mac. It has nothing to do with Microsoft Office. If you want Word and Excel, then buy MS Office for Mac 2008
- Office will allow you to run Word and Excell for mac, Virtual PC will not. Before you buy office, have a look at the free http://openoffice.org/ and see if that provides you with what you need. You can save as word/excell documents with it.
