When you call the # does a real person pick up or is it an operator thats kind of like voicemail?

Can someone call for me and tell me who/what picks up? I dont like talking to strangers or ppl i dont know FYI there is a difference if ur not stupid! i dont enter chatrooms cuz most ppl there are just pervs and i dont do blogging, wuts the point?
