Do you remember any of these?
before the internet or computer, before semi auto's,crack cell phones,cd's,dvd's,voicemail and email, playing kickball and dodgeball,redlight/greenlight,hide and seek until the first....second.....no the third streetlight came on,bedtime prayers and goodnight kisses, climbing trees and swinging so high you could almost touch the sky,ice cream from the good humor truck, sticky fingers and a million mosquitoe bites.laughing so hard your stomach hurt.your first crush, ahhh your first kiss under the full moon of summer,a drink from the garden hose, giving friends a ride on your handle bars, new shoes, when a quarter was a fair allowance, being old was like 20,getting in trouble at school was nothing compared to the trouble you'd be in at home, triple dog dares, cuts and scrapes were always kissed by mom and miraculously got better.spinning around till you got dizzy and fell down, and water balloons were THE ultimate weapons, just a few thoughts, can you remember when life was easy????

- Yes, I remember!
- Awwww....the memories. I love the reminder about drinking from the garden hose :)
- yes... and I do wish it were like that again today... do happen to watch Robot Chicken... they had a little skit of a guy who just leaped out of a time portal and appeared to this guy in the park and said, "Hey, what year is it" and the guy replied "2006"... and the time jumper said, "Oh god, 2006... good luck buddy"... ha... I thought that was funny.
- yes, yes, yes, yes, yes
- Yeah, thanks for reminding me! I think I'm gonna go outside now...
- don't forget catching fireflies, Thanks for a trip down memory lane.
- you made me cry(in a good way)! yes yes i do! =]
- Yes, and I love to look back. But wrong generation. I could type before I could write.
- them were the days eh kidda. xxx
- Tears come...I can't say that i can......"The memories" And You???....
- i was born with that computer and internet but i still loved playing outside and climbing trees i still do lol
- lol woah thats sooooooooooooooo long I think most of that was before my time. but i do remember doing some of it as a kid =]
- Ha, that's a good poem. Yes, I do remember all that stuff. And even the though I have internet and all the stuff listed, I still do all that "when life was easy" crap.
- remember though, before that there was the world wars, the great depression, dust storms, and famine. Before that still there was medieval torture and the plague. Also remember that the present will be someone elese nostalgia, that's how nostalgia works. So whether I remember or not is pretty immaterial.
- Yes i remember♥
- yes and i miss them oh so much i wish those days would come back
- I remember Hippity Hops, the smell of a new box of crayons, Saturday morning cartoons, beating the boys at kickball, and actually believing I could be anything I wanted to be when I grew up.
- Yeah, those were the good ole days. Now everyone is getting older and taking on responsibilities, global warming is killing off species of animals and the Iraq war seems to be lasting forever. People are dying for others mistakes, kids are growing up with more worries that they shouldn't have to think about. Life is nothing like it used to be.
- and just the thought of back-chatting to your parents earnt you a clip round the ear them good old days
- bottle caps with melted wax. hopscotch. man hunt. making mud pies, wow i wish i could go back there for a day. that is when i was safe in the arms of mommy and daddy.
- yes and would love to be able to go back in time so i could live a care free life again before i had any kids
- Thanks for the memories.I remember them better now. We also had Hot Bottle! & Shopping Trolley dash! Home made go-carts.Penny for the Guy? Guy Fawkes Night & power cuts!! & other things besides.
- I see that the people that answered so far are still young and life is still easy. I remember when birthday parties were in your house, not at jump zone, when summer vaction meant time off school not a trip to Disney World, when you heard the music of the ice cream man and your mom gave you a dollar and you were expected to bring back change, I remember that thinking I had a hard life in high school..ha what a joke that is now. I remember thinking having a hundred dollars was a lot of money. I remember when fun wasn't determined by how much money you spent but by how much time you got to spend with your friends. AHHHHHH the good ol' days
- Almost all of the above! Thanks for the memories:-) Glad I was there but happy in the present, Then as now we have to take the good with the bad. They were good times but not always. Kinda like now.
- Aah yes. The simple life. When kids were kids and we all knew how to play together and find our own amusement. Keeping our selves occupied seemed so easy. Now, they have all they want and more. And still they moan they have nothing to do and are bored.
- that was beautiful...that was my childhood
- Nice trip down memory lane, yes life was a pleasure, I was driving my fathers tractor and had a block of wood so I could press the peddle, while they picked up bales of hay.I was about 5 Snared catfish from a creek and sold them for 15 cents each , took my friends out for a float, ( ice cream with your cola). The Monkees, I loved Peter The yearly fair, standing wanting to play 5 cents to win a toy, or should I get a cotton candy? thanks for the memories
- I remember all that stuff, and I also remember when you could ride your bike or walk miles away from home and you didn't have to worry about getting abducted by some freak or shot in a drive by, and you could go to the corner store and get a buttload of candy for a quarter. I also remember in grade school when we'd actually have Halloween or Christmas parties and it was OK because no one got offended because of their religious beliefs, and we could bring cupcakes our mom made at home and no one worried about food poisoning or allergies. Good times, good times.
