what is the voicemail-box number for verizon phones,when you first set up your voicemail?

on a verizon phone [razr] to open my voicemail,what numbers would it be? i've never set it up before,help(: i know the alltel number is 9999; what is verizon's?? okay,i dialed *86; but that just gets me TO my voicemail, not IN my voicemail. i need a code!!

1. Dial *86 from your handset to set up voicemail.
2. Once you access your voice mail, #86 or 1 and send, you should be prompted to set up your voice mail. You will enter the last 4 of your mobile # and you should access a menu that gives you options to set up your personal pin and greeting options. You can change your pin to whatever you want. 3. I think that the default is the last 4 digits of your phone number until you set it to something personalized.
