What's a funny voicemail message?

I don't know what to tape for my voicemail greeting. Something funny? =] Ten points for best answer!

  1. Saying "hey or hello" as if you actually picked up the phone! I've been fooled quite a few times with that.
  2. Act like you answered the phone to trick people into talking to you before the recording tells you to leave a message or call back number.
  3. I don't have an answer for you, but I do have a thought for you to consider. If you plan on giving you cell number out to a prospective job, college recruiter, or for some other professional reason, you may want to forgo the "funny" greeting. I recently called a prospective employee about a job application. His voice mail greeting had him pretending to not be able to hear because of loud music, then fumbling for the volume knob, then saying it's just his voice mail. At that point I hung up and filed his application because he wasted my time. EDIT I have to admit that I don't see the fun in greetings that trick people into thinking they are talking to you. It's not like you get to see their embarrassment when they realize it's a trick.
  4. if you want to make a FUNNY one, i used to use these: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/tags/soundboard/ it is a soundboard. You can piece together different celebrity voices to make a recording. Once you've figured out what you want to do, you record it to your phone...it's brilliant.
  5. Say "Hey! Whats up?" Wait a few seconds... then say "Huh? I can't hear you??" Wait and then... "Sorry! I'm not here... leave me a message!" hehehe
  6. I always thought it would be funny to make the person calling you think that you actually picked up like recording "hey" leaving a little bit of a space then saying something like "hows it going?" or "want to hangout?" then saying "oops sorry I'm not here right now leave a message" it would leave the person calling you like wtf?! lol or my friends and I once made one together on my phone we passed it around and each of us said one word like 1st person "hey" 2nd person "courtney" 3rd person "can't" "come" "to" "the" "phone" etc... in hick accents! or british accents oh but I do agree with justin H. if your planning on having anybody call you like an employer or an adult who wouldn't find it funny don't do it. I had a funny one and my dance teacher called me it was sorta embarrasing. but if its just for your friends then go ahead! funny viocemail greetings are great!
