overseas phone, how to set up AT&T voicemail?

i have an overseas phone, how do i set up voicemail if i'm using AT&T? everywhere i look it says press 1 and follow the directions, but i'm not using their phone so pressing 1 leads to no where because my phone isn't set up. what number do i dial?

1. I'm not sure if this will help you out but you might try calling AT&T Costumer service I'm sure they'll be very helpful. Here is the number that I think you need. 1-800-331-0500 Good luck! I hope you get it figured out. :D
2. You need to contact customer service and they can try and program the voicemail number in to the device or if they are unable to do that then you can set up an address book entry and call it voicemail and then they can give you the voicemail retrieval number that you would need to program in that address book entry. As the other person stated you can call 1-800-331-0500 from a different phone to get this accomplished
