what to do if my voicemail for verizon phone wont let me hear messages?

ive gotten like 10 new voicemails through out the week, and i press call to hear them. normally, it would first say to enter password. now, it starts ringer and says to leave a message. can someone tell me what might've happened? and how to hear the messages? i have a samsung glyde btw
