when people call me my voicemail doesn't work?

I just got the LG Xenon from at&t and if you call my cellphone from another phone and i don't pick up then my pone rings for a really long time. After a while it says "the wireless you are calling is not available at this time" and then it says it in spanish and a bunch of letters. When i go to my voice mail personal options it says create greeting message and i did. However, the voice mail greetings message that i already made doesn't come up. Help? i got it 4 days ago

1. The system might be down and it's not registering. I would give it time, and if it's not working by tomorrow I would call or take my phone to At&t's text support.
