How can I fix my Verizon Wireless voicemail?

Every time I try to check my voicemail, it gives me the message "Welcome to Verizon Wireless, your call cannot be completed as dialed" and then gives me some announcement number. I searched online and people have been saying to dial *73 but that has not worked. Anyone have any solutions? I will pick best answer.

2. your phone is probably having issues being authenticated, which means it is having troubles connecting to the network. You should probably call *228, and press option one. this will refresh your network connection. if this fails, I would call *611 from your phone, and talk to verizon about this issue. Thanks.
