Does it cost money to call your voicemail with Verizon?

Does it cost money to call your voicemail? I'm a Verizon user. I heard ppl said it's free but not quite sure. And what about internationally? Cuz I am going to China tomorrow, I'm pretty sure my phone works over there. I need to check my voicemail everyday, does it still cost nothing? Thx

1. It just costs you minutes. In China verizon gets roaming signal. Roaming charges are $1.99 per minute
