Voicemail

Looking for landline phone service with web based voicemail.?

I have a land line phone line that I want to keep for emergency purposes. However I'm getting so many unsolicited phone calls that its unusable. I want to unplug the phone and have everything routed to web accessible voicemail. Does any phone service provider have this. And no I'm not interested in setting up my own Asterix PBX.

  1. Call Forwarding is your friend. You can sign up for Google Voice, or MaxEmail or anything that offers free DID numbers. Then, you call forward to that number and it emails the messages back to wherever you choose. There would be a monthly charge for the CF and there may be a charge for phone calls. In the case of MaxEmail, the $20 a year charge is for a number in the 815 area code, so you would have to pay the cost of a long distance call. Google Voice may have some free number in your local exchange, and some of the other companies that use Level 3 or similar may have a local number for you to use. Carl
  2. 1- get a google voice number 2- set up your google voice number to do not disturb 3- have your telephone provider set up call forward busy/no answer on your line to your google voice number... 4- check voicemails on the web, email, or text message...
