Is there a way to disable Verizon Wireless Voicemail?

Would like to be able to make Verizon wireless Voicemail not answer incoming calls to anyone calling my number. Would like to be able to turn the voicemail back on again if I wanted.

1. Couple of ways you can do it: (1) Call Verizon wireless to remove voicemail feature. You can call them back to activate it. There is no charge for this. (2) Leave yourself a very long message. Once you exceed your message quota nobody will be able to leave you a message. (3) Setup call forwarding to a number (landline or other cell phone) that does not have voice mail option.
