How can I turn off my voicemail on my Verizon cell phone?

Is there a way to activate and deactivate the voicemail easily?

1. the only way to activate and deactivate would be to call customer care to have it removed and readded since its a network feature there is no way to do it thru your phone. not so easy, sorry!
