How to skip to the beep when leaving voicemail on verizon wireless phone?

I know how to do it on Cingular and Spint (press 1). How do I do it on verizon? You know.. when you just want to leave a message and not listen to the 'greeting'? Thanks It's not "1". Please answer only if you've done it before and certain that it works. Don't guess, please. And don't tell me to read a manual - I'm the caller, not the receiver (and I don't have verizon).
