How do you check your voicemail on a alltel scoop?

How do you check your voicemail on a alltel scoop for the first time? I got the phone yesterday and I can't figure out how to check my voicemail.

1. All you have to do is press and hold down the 1 key. If that does not work then your phone was not programmed correctly. You can check it by dialing your phone number from your phone if that does not work. Either way go into alltel, they should program your voicemail for you or see if you can edit your speed dial list, and progrm that 1 key for your phone number.
