Does anyone know of a software I can install for voicemail answering?

We have a small home office and need help. In the past we had access to voicemail software online that would handle our calls when we were out. since, they've been out of the loop and we need a professional image. Can anyone direct me to a place where I can gain access to voicemail software?...freeware if we can get it. Thank you. PS. We currently have an old answering machine that no longer operates well.
