I have a voicemail that my friend left the day before he died. Is there a way to save Nextel messages offline?
The cell phone is a Motorola i70 and I do have the iDen software and cable but haven't been able to figure out how to save this for his family.

- Can you turn up the volume and record it to a tape recorder? Sorry to hear about your friend that suxs
- If you can play and listen to the message, why don't you just record it? Otherwise, contact Nextel and see if they can help.
- Get a micro cassett recorder then play your message with the speaker phone. Record it onto the micro cassett. Thats how I do all of mine. Then you have the tape forever.
- If you don't have a speakerphone on your phone, find out if your network allows you to check messages from another phone, usually with a pin number. You dial your number, press the HASH/GATE key and it should ask for your pin number. Then check your messages from a phone with a speakerphone on it, and you should be able to record your message. I'm sorry about your friend :(
- sorry about your friend. I have an idea, I dont know much about american cell phones as i am from england, but if i was having the same problem i would do this: I would find someone who has a cell phone who can transfer files from their cellphone to the pc, then all you need to do is transfer the file to their phone via Bluetooth, infrared or whatever the US version is. Then get them to make an audio cd from there comp. Hope this is helpfull to you.
- What model phone do you have? If it has the voice record feature on it you can save it with that while you play the message. then email it to yourself and save the attachment on your computer. you can also forward the message to someone that DOES have the voice record on their phone if you dont. I need to know the phone model to help you. I'm very sorry about your loss. I know how important it is to save every last piece when someone passes away. Please add some more info and i will check back.
