How do I bypass the ringing and go straight to leaving a voicemail for someone?

Hi y'all: I'm in Canada I know there is a service - a number you can press - to skip the ringing/conversation part and go straight to someone's voicemail to leave them a message. Anyone know what this number is? My nonconfrontational self thanks you. :)

1. I know that if they don't have their own answering machine and using like bell messaging service you can press * to skip the greeting... good luck
2. I don't know about calling but if you are checking YOUR voicemail and that person who you want to leave a message left YOU a message one of the options would be to leave THEM a voice message without calling them. Try it out. I hope this helps =)
3. I think it is 2!!! But I am not sure!
4. Ok, you need to: Go to your voicemail, listen to the options, pick one that says SEND A VOICEMAIL or something like that, record it, then put the number in, then hit #. Hope it works for you.
